Course Description

Meets every day for half a year. Digital Art is a year-long course that surveys graphic and creative design elements using Adobe Photoshop. This course, primarily for sophomores, is the second computer course in our curriculum, the first one being Multimedia, geared to our freshman population. This course introduces students to art and design principles as they relate to digital media. Students will use industry-standard software and tools to create art pieces that demonstrate an understanding of artistic concepts and media literacy. DESE Description: Computer Graphics courses provide students with the opportunity to explore the capability of the computer to produce visual imagery and to apply graphic techniques to various fields, such as advertising, TV/video, and architecture. Possible course topics include modeling, simulation, animation, and image retouching.
