Studio Art 2

Course Description

Studio Art 2 is offered to students who have successfully completed Studio Art 1 in 11th grade or have demonstrated motivation and commitment to independently creating art by sharing photos or a sketchbook which includes some observational representational work (prior to the start of the new school year). This class is designed as an advanced level course for students seeking to continue their training and are interested in going to art school or a career in visual art. Studio Art 2 also has a strong emphasis on learning about 20th century art as well as art of antiquity; with a focus on specific art movements' use of materials; leading to stylistic and technical approaches to making art. Grade 12 - Prerequisite: Studio Art 1
