HS Introduction to Theater

Course Description

In this introductory High school course, students will receive sequential instruction focused on the development of the tools of the actor- voice, body, and imagination. Students will study the basic fundamentals of how scene design, sound, costumes, properties and lighting are used in the theater and will lead the design process in a fully staged production. Students will execute their acting skills in a staged production. Students will be responsible for the entire production process, from casting and auditions, to ticket sales and program design. Additionally, students will participate in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild competition.
