Course Description

Humanities 8 explores the fundamentals of US government and examines how people in the United States are affected by and influence their society. Students learn about the structure of government, creation of laws, and the role of the courts. Apply this knowledge when examining current issues. In addition, students will develop critical thinking skills as they read fiction, poetry, and primary and secondary source documents and write expository essays, and creative writing pieces. Students use their knowledge of government, movements, and systems in order to create an action research project.
