Course Description

In addition to review of all materials covered in Chinese 1 and Chinese 2, students will also learn how to report facts, express likes and dislikes, agreements and disagreements, thoughts and feelings, and state opinions in speaking and writing. Selected passages from literature with English translation will be assigned for reading. Cultural topics already studied will be dealt with in greater detail. Students will go on various field trips to the Peabody Essex Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts to learn more about Chinese culture. In addition, several guest visitors will come to the classroom to teach about authentic Chinese instruments and calligraphy.
