Course Description

This course will build on fundamentals learned in Chinese I. Students will learn how to ask and answer questions, how to use the dictionary to read and how to write for informative and narrative purposes. They will also learn 200 new characters. Cultural aspects will include further study of all areas of Chinese civilization, ancient and modern. Students will go on various field trips to the Peabody Essex Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts to learn more about Chinese culture. In addition, several guest visitors will come to the classroom to teach about authentic Chinese instruments and calligraphy.
